APPLICATION:
Decorative Arte-Tynk STONE is used for making decorative plaster on traditional substrates, the facade coating made of decorative plaster is resistant to dirt, UV radiation and mechanical damage.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The surface should be smooth, clean, dry, well bonded - any gaps should be filled with the appropriate mortar, and biological damage can be eliminated with the AntiGLO preparation. Depending on the condition of the substrate, prime with Arsanit Arte-Grunt of an appropriately selected color. Arte-Tynk STONE can be used on even, load-bearing, dry and free of substances that reduce the adhesion of the substrate such as fat, fungi, dust, etc. Ambient temperature and substrate at the time of plaster application and for the next 24 hours from +10°C to +28°C. Pebble plaster should be stored in cool places, out of sunlight, at temperatures from +5°C to 28°C. During and after the work, until it is completely dry, protect the plaster against unfavorable weather conditions such as strong wind, precipitation, high temperature, sunlight and fog. Arte-Tynk STONE cannot be used on horizontal surfaces not protected from rain. Plaster cannot be used below ground level. Arte-Tynk STONE should only be used on vertical surfaces, without any lifting. The application of Arte-Tynk STONE can be started after the plaster primer is fully dry and hardened Arte-Grunt, after 24 hours. The condition of the plaster base can be assessed using an open-hand test by wiping its surface.
APPLICATION TIPS:
1. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The substrate must be even and free from contamination.
If, at an early stage of work, when applying the glue, visible streaks or scratches remain on the trowel, they must be removed. This can be done by sanding off excess glue with an abrasive cloth. After this treatment, the surface should be dust-free.
2. PRIMING THE SUBSTRATE:
- Before applying the plaster, it is necessary to prime the surface with plaster primers ARTE-GRUNT.
- The substrate should be primed twice: the first time - with a brush, which will additionally sweep the glue from the residues; the second time - with a roller, until a uniform color of the substrate is obtained.
In order to proceed to the next stages of work, the primer must be completely dry and hardened what happens 24 hours after application. The ambient temperature when applying the primer should be from +10°C to +28°C.
3: PREPARATION OF PLASTER:
The plaster is delivered by the manufacturer ready to apply and with the appropriate composition of aggregate and mica, but before application it must be mixed and set aside for a few minutes - this will reduce its aeration.
ATTENTION:
Mixing for too long will result in breaking of the mica flakes and excessive aeration, which may affect the final effect on the facade, the impression of stains or different sizes of mica flakes.
IMPORTANT:
Applying the plaster immediately after mixing it may make its application more difficult and disturb the proper distribution of flakes during troweling.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
APPLICATION OF PLASTER
Plaster application should be carried out during favorable weather conditions, excluding strong sunlight, strong wind and rain. The substrate must not be heated. Use scaffolding nets if necessary.
APPLICATION OF PLASTER IS DONE IN TWO STAGES:
STEP 1 - APPLICATION
Apply a layer of plaster using stainless steel plaster. A previously used trowel works best in this role because it already has rounded edges, so it does not create additional scratches.
Apply a slightly thicker layer of plaster and remove the excess, leaving a layer of about 1.5 mm.
IMPORTANT:
Too strong pressure and too sharp an angle of the trowel inclination will result in a too dark plaster layer, which will make it difficult to fill in the empty spaces and properly place the mica at a later stage. It is absolutely forbidden to allow the plaster to reach the ground layer.
ATTENTION:
In the case of plasters with white aggregate, the plaster may feel dry during application. In such situations, it is allowed to add 200 mm of water to the bucket and slowly mix its contents.
STEP 2 - BLASTING
Float a freshly applied plaster layer in which setting has already started with circular lapping movements, using a plastic trowel, which we recommend for these works.
IMPORTANT:
When applying light plasters, it is recommended to use a plastic trowel with white bottom. The plastic trowel should be regularly cleaned with a metal trowel during troweling.
The mashing operation should be performed at least twice, with the recommended intervals of about 20 minutes between each mashing. The purpose of the second rubbing is to properly expose the mica flakes and obtain a smooth surface. During the second lapping, the plaster cannot be allowed to dry out.
IMPORTANT:
The application of plaster mass on one surface must be performed continuously without breaks. Rubbing with a steel or Venetian trowel may cause stains on the plaster.
LAYER ARRANGEMENT:
1. Priming: Arte-Grunt, tinted according to the color number of the final coating.
2. Final layer: Arte-Tynk STONE; to increase resistance to weather conditions, after complete drying, the plaster surface can be additionally protected with Arte-Fix M.
The application of plaster mass on a uniform surface must be performed continuously (without breaks). The mica present in Arte-Tynk STONE is a natural raw material, therefore the mica flakes may vary in shape and size, which is a completely normal situation and constitutes about the uniqueness of the effect achieved thanks to Arte-Tynk STONE.
Before starting work, check the batch numbers of the material before processing. Do not apply batches of material with different numbers to the same surface - in the case of materials with different production numbers, they must be mixed together to uniform the plaster.
TREATMENT:
Apply Arte-Tynk STONE with a stainless steel trowel. After some time, depending on the weather conditions, smooth the applied material with a steel trowel. The execution technique, tools and substrate have a significant impact on the final effect.
ATTENTION!
The material should not be allowed to dry too quickly, especially in summer.
WEAR:
Consumption Arte-Tynk STONE is in the range of 2.0 - 4.0 kg/m2 and ultimately depends on the type of substrate and application technique.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Packaging must be tightly closed and protected from sunlight and high temperatures. Tools should be cleaned with water immediately after use.
